Polka Dots

When the Ladybug's Nana F. came to visit us back in November, she brought with her some adorable outfits for the bug to grow into. When I say "to grow into," I mean that she will have to wait a few years before these cute outfits will fit her properly. None-the-less, the Bug and I were looking at the clothes yesterday and we came across this adorable dress... black with white little polka dots and a pink sweater over top. The Bug just had to try it on, and as she stepped out of the room, she looked like she had stepped out of a 1950's era movie. Just totally adorable. It is way too big on her, but she just loves the way the skirt fits on her, and the way it moves when she dances. Of course I just had to grab the camera and take some pics. I hope you enjoy! ~~Sigh... she looks so much older now in this dress... where is my little girl going?~~

Perspective

We are just so blessed with our little Ladybug. Before she was even 2 years old, she was potty trained. It took the bug and I one really dedicated weekend for her to make the leap, and she has been pretty much diaper-free ever since. She was even able to quickly move herself away from nighttime diapers and swim diapers without any trouble. Talk about a huge savings... way to go girl!

Recently, while taking her swimming lessons, we put a swim diaper on her, thinking she would need it. At one point during her lesson, she looked up and signed to us that she needed to go potty. Daddy quickly walked up and whispered to her that because she had her diaper on, she could tinkle quickly in her diaper if she wanted, and it wouldn't matter (he wasn't actually encouraging her to tinkle while in the pool, he was just trying help her not miss any of her short 30-minute swim lesson). The Ladybug looked at Daddy with the most disgusted face and said, "Ewwwwwwwwwwww, yuck! I am not going tinkle in my diaper. That is gross!" Nice to know she is totally repulsed by the idea... the kid has some standards.

Anyway I digress. Just last evening the Bug announced that she had to go potty, then made her way to the bathroom. She asked Daddy to tag along, which he did. While in the bathroom, "taking care of business," the Bug reached over and took some toilet paper in her hand. She then examined it more intently than she ever had before. Then with a great big smile, she announced to Daddy, "This toilet paper is really pretty! I like it a lot. It has pretty flowers on it. Thanks Daddy!"

Who knew... I thought it was just toilet paper. Don't you just love living life through the eyes of a child!

A Ladybug Billboard

The Ladybug's daddy left a few weeks ago for a work-related 4-day trip up to Alaska (can you say "burrrrrr"?). During that time, the Ladybug and I spent some wonderful one-on-one time together, playing, singing, laughing, and just about everything else fun under the sun. With daddy away, the bug got very spoiled... she and I thoroughly enjoyed "slumber parties" every single night. Unfortunately, she had to say goodbye to our fun little slumbers, something she was hoping would continue with daddy once he returned.

Although the bug and I enjoyed our one-on-one time together, she was very excited for her daddy's return. On the day of daddy's arrival, the bug and I created a fun sign to welcome him home, with some attached photos that were taken while he was away. With the sign in hand, we made our way to the airport to welcome daddy home on the last flight of the day. With sign in hand, the Ladybug eagerly stood at the end of the walkway, waiting for her daddy to arrive. Needless to say, this was just what daddy needed after a long day of flying.

Fun Little WebSite

I was wandering through the internet today, and came across this really cool site (I need to thank my friend Cindy for sparking my interest in this one... thanks!). The site is called PhotoFunia.com, and it is a blast. All you do is choose a photo layout you like, upload your photo, and voila... your photo is done. You can then save it, or print it. Try it for yourself and see what you can come up with. Below are some of my creations. Enjoy!

My Little Ladybug

This afternoon, the Ladybug's school hosted a Valentine's party for the kids. I stopped by to join in the fun with my girl, and I was greeted with a great big squeal of excitement (I just love it when she greets me this way, leaves me feeling warm and fuzzy inside!). Liliana had a wonderful time giving and receiving valentines, eating lots of food, and playing with her friends. All in all is was a great afternoon. Although I forgot to bring my camera to event, I did have my cell phone so I was able to snap up a couple shots.

Shrivelled-Up Medicine

The Ladybug is on the mend. She awoke today with a fever around 102 degrees again, but with some more meds and lots of TLC from daddy, she gained a bit of energy this afternoon. She is not at the point of eating too much quite yet, but she does seem to have more energy.

With this new burst of energy, the Bug decided to play doctor. She started rummaging through all of her nebulizer supplies and soon found the perfect medicine to put into the medicine cup... raisins! Apparently, they taste a whole lot better than the medicine that her doctor prescribed. Gotta give it to the kid, she is pretty creative.

The Bug Has a Bug

The Ladybug has not been feeling up to par for the past few weeks. However, despite a yucky cough, she has had lots of energy and hasn't really seemed very sick.

That is until this weekend.

Poor little girl has been sick all weekend, coughing and feverish. Her fever topped 102.6 yesterday, so Daddy decided to stay home with her today and take her to the doctor's office. Apparently she didn't have a very nice visit. Her ears were rather clogged and needed to be cleaned. It took two nurses, the doctor, and daddy to keep her down while they cleaned out her ears. She is now on antibiotics to help get her better, and the doctor suggested that she do some breathing treatments whenever she starts coughing to help clear her chest.

The breathing mask is really cute, looks like a little fishy. However, despite its cuteness, Liliana was really scared to put the thing on and ended up crying for over 20 minutes before we could start.

Hopefully her medicine will get her on the mend. Keep her in your prayers. We are crossing our fingers that she will be feeling much better soon.
